Our clients had spent years bringing their family home up to date, room by room. By 2026, there was only one space left that hadn’t caught up with the rest of the house: the guest bathroom. It was tired, dated, and starting to feel out of place next to everything else they’d done. This project became one of our favourite bathroom renovations in Roseville, taking that space right back to brick, timber and floor joists, and rebuilding it from the ground up. Four weeks later, with a few surprises handled along the way, our clients had a bathroom that finally matched the rest of their home, finished on time and ready just as family arrived to stay.
Our clients weren’t looking for a quick freshen-up. Every other room in their home had already been renovated over the years, and this guest bathroom was the last one standing still. They wanted a full bathroom renovation that felt just as considered and well finished as the rest of their house, and they wanted a bathroom renovation contractor they could trust to get it right the first time.
There was also a deadline that mattered to them personally. Their family was coming to stay, and the bathroom needed to be finished and usable before they arrived. So our brief was clear from day one: deliver a modern bathroom renovation our clients would be proud of, within a window of time we couldn’t afford to miss.
Starting With a Complete Strip Out
We never try to save old wall linings or questionable timber just to shortcut a job. Every full bathroom renovation we take on starts with a proper bathroom strip out, back to the bare bones of the room. For this project, that meant clearing everything away until we were down to brick, timber and floor joists, giving us a clean, honest starting point before any new work began.
Confirming the Layout Before Moving Forward
With the room stripped back, we could see exactly what we were working with and confirm the new layout would actually come together the way we’d planned. It’s a step we never skip. Knowing the full picture from day one means fewer surprises down the track, and a much smoother renovation for the homeowner.
Keeping the Project on Track
From there, we followed our usual bathroom design and renovation process, aiming to get through the first few days without any curveballs so the rest of the job could run smoothly. Once we’re past that early stage, our project managers took the reins, overseeing every trade and every detail through to the final handover, including waterproofing carried out to AS 3740 wet area standards.
Unexpected Discoveries Behind the Walls
Strip outs have a way of revealing a home’s history, and this one had plenty to tell. We uncovered signs of an old doorway that had once connected the bathroom to the spare bedroom next door. We also found the previous owners had sheeted the walls floor to ceiling in fibre cement lining, which had been hiding the fact that the real substrate underneath was brick, not the timber we’d expected.
We took the time to properly understand what we were dealing with, then worked through some practical adjustments with our clients so we could still land on the layout they wanted.
Racing the Clock
Structurally, everything checked out fine, so the biggest challenge became time. The renovation had been scheduled to fit neatly into the window before the family arrived to stay, and the shift in scope to account for the brick substrate meant that window suddenly felt a lot tighter.
We reworked the schedule, adjusted the sequence of trades, and kept the project moving without losing the time we simply didn’t have to spare. The bathroom was finished right on schedule, just in time for the family visit it always needed to be ready for.
A Genuine Full Bathroom Renovation
This was never going to be a surface-level refresh. Our services provided a true strip-out-and-rebuild solution, addressing the bathroom from the substrate up, so our clients ended up with a space built on solid foundations rather than one dressed up over old problems.

A Result That Finally Matched the Rest of the Home
The finished bathroom brought this space up to the same standard as everywhere else in our clients’ house. What was once the odd one out has become a bathroom makeover the whole family is genuinely happy about.
Finishes Our Clients Love
The result speaks for itself. From the layout to the final fit-out, this bathroom reflects the kind of luxury bathroom renovation finish we aim for on every project, using quality materials chosen to last.
On Time and On Budget, Despite the Surprises
Even after uncovering an unexpected substrate change and a hidden doorway, we kept the project on schedule and on budget. That’s what a proper strip-out-first approach makes possible, and it’s a big part of what sets our bathroom renovation Roseville projects apart.
A Family Proud to Show It Off
Nothing means more to us than a client who’s genuinely happy with their new bathroom. Our clients were thrilled with the result, and just as pleased to show it off to family and friends the moment it was finished.
